What the injury hides about last season

Brock Purdy appeared in only nine games in 2025 and finished as QB23 overall with 177.4 fantasy points. That ranking is what shows up on the season-long leaderboard, and it is the number that drives his current price down to an ADP of 110.3.

The part the overall finish conceals is what he did in the games he actually played. He averaged 19.7 points per game across those nine starts, which ranked sixth among all quarterbacks on a per-game basis. He threw 20 touchdowns and added three rushing scores, posting three games over 20 PPR points against only two under 10.

Sportsbooks had him projected for 3,850.5 passing yards and 24.5 passing touchdowns before the season. In nine games he threw for 2,167 yards and 20 scores. Extrapolate that pace to 17 games and you get 4,037 passing yards and 35 touchdowns, both well ahead of where the market priced him.

The per-game rate is not new

This was the third straight season Purdy finished top-10 in points per game at the position. In 2024 he ranked QB8 per game. In 2023 he ranked QB5 per game. The efficiency when he is on the field has been the most consistent part of his profile since he took over as starter.

The rushing production is a meaningful piece of that. He added 147 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in nine games last season, continuing a pattern of goal-line designed runs that San Francisco uses to exploit defensive attention on the backfield. What breaks the profile is games played: in three seasons as a starter he has appeared in 16 games, 13 games, and nine games.
