Tetairoa McMillan Fantasy Outlook 2026: The Volume Without The Efficiency

The rookie baseline was pure volume

Tetairoa McMillan finished his first season as the 16th receiver and 47th player overall, with 211.4 fantasy points across 17 games. Sportsbooks had posted him at 73.78 receptions, 825.5 receiving yards, and 4.5 touchdowns going into 2025. He delivered 70 catches, 1,014 yards, and 7 touchdowns, beating the yardage and touchdown lines while missing slightly on receptions.

That is a clean rookie beat, and it landed him exactly where a high-volume receiver on a bad offense should land. He commanded 25% of Carolina's targets, saw 123 looks across 17 games, and was the unambiguous top option in the passing game from Week 1 forward. There is no role uncertainty here and there was none last year.

The problem is what he did with the volume. He caught 57% of the passes thrown his way, the lowest catch rate among the top 25 receivers in target share. His 12.4 points per game ranked 22nd at the position despite playing every game, and he posted five games under 10 points against just one over 20. The efficiency was genuinely bad, and it cost him the WR1 finish his target share should have delivered.

Our board ranks him 35 overall with 207.0 implied PPR points, ESPN has him 36, and ADP sits at 44.5. The projection for 2026 is 72.5 receptions, 950 receiving yards, and 6.5 touchdowns, which is essentially a repeat of the rookie season with slightly fewer yards and slightly fewer scores.

That is not a sophomore leap projection. It is a floor projection that assumes the volume holds and the efficiency stays exactly where it was. The gap between our rank and ADP is small — roughly 10 spots — which means the market is not betting on improvement. It is betting on stability.
