Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook 2026: The Injury Was Real, The Talent Hasn't Left
Evans missed nine games in 2025 and posted career-worst per-game numbers when he played, but at 33 he's now in San Francisco with a proven quarterback and a track record of red-zone production that doesn't disappear overnight.

What injury actually took from him
Mike Evans played eight games in 2025 and posted 30 receptions, 368 yards, and three touchdowns. That comes to 10.6 PPR points per game. He missed nine games with a hamstring injury that cost him the second half of the season.
The market had priced him for 75.7 catches, 975.5 receiving yards, and 7.5 touchdowns before the injury. Zero of his eight games cleared 20 PPR points. Two came in under 10.
The relevant comparison is 2024, when he played 14 games and posted 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns, beating both his posted lines. That version of Mike Evans was a high-end WR2. The 2025 version was not on the field long enough to be anything.
The projection is not asking him to return to 11 touchdowns. It is asking him to score 6.5 times in an offense that scored 30 passing touchdowns last year.
What survived the injury and the age
Evans is now 33 and in San Francisco, joining a crowded target tree behind Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel. The skepticism writes itself: an aging receiver coming off injury into a new offense where he is the fourth option.
The counterargument is that his skill set is the one part of receiver play that ages well. He has never been a separation receiver. He has been a red-zone receiver, and red-zone work is about size, hands, and timing, not foot speed. Those things do not disappear at 33.
San Francisco runs a high-percentage passing game that gets to the goal line often. Evans is a 6'5" size mismatch, and the projection reflects it: 6.5 receiving touchdowns on 62.5 receptions and 825 receiving yards.
